On August 26, 2025, The Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place, Jakarta, witnessed the gathering of cyber security leaders and experts at the Cybersecurity Summit 2025. Initiated by PT ITSEC Asia Tbk, this event was not merely a regular meeting but a crucial moment to strengthen Indonesia's national cyber defense.
The event was officially opened by the keynote speaker, the Director General of Defense Potential at the Ministry of Defense, Rear Admiral Sri Yanto, S.T. He emphasized that amid the rapid flow of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, cyber threats are no longer just a technical issue, but a matter of national sovereignty and safety. Artificial intelligence, IoT, and other new technologies have indeed changed how we interact, but at the same time, they also create new vulnerabilities that must be watched out for.
To address the increasingly complex and organized threats, Rear Admiral Sri Yanto outlined three main pillars:
Building an Intellectual Foundation: Involving academics in research, technology development, as well as education and training to produce reliable talents in the cyber field.
Cross-Sector Collaboration: Fostering close cooperation among ministries, institutions, and non-governmental sectors to face hybrid warfare and irregular threats.
Active Government Role: Ensuring the government continues to invest in the development of national cyber security infrastructure, adaptive defense strategies, and strict law enforcement against cybercrime.
The event was also attended by other key figures, such as Prof. Eko Indrajit (President Commissioner of PT ITSEC Asia Tbk), Patrick Dannacher (President Director of PT ITSEC Asia Tbk), and Drs. Slamet Aji Pamungkas, M.Eng. (Deputy IV for Cyber Security and Economic Encryption at BSSN).
The success of the Cybersecurity Summit 2025 received a positive response from various parties, marking a concrete step for Indonesia in building a more robust cyber defense posture for the future.
